Papenmeier Services

For over 50 years, we have been dealing daily with the challenges that the job market and the constant technological changes pose for blind and severely visually impaired people. Due to the ever-advancing technologization of workplaces, it is nearly impossible for blind and visually impaired individuals to manage their workday without appropriate assistive devices such as magnification software, braille displays, or screen readers.
Consulting and service from a single source
As a solution provider, we support blind and visually impaired individuals with our wide range of assistive devices as well as our services to customize and optimize your professional and private daily life.
Unlike other manufacturers in the sector, we see ourselves as a solution provider who walks the entire path with you—from analyzing your current situation, through consulting and assembling an individualized assistive device offering, to installation and training you in using the new technology. In this process, we also make sure—together with you—to closely examine your work and operational processes and sustainably optimize them.

Brief overview of our approach
Step 1
Analysis
Usually, after you contact us, we arrange an initial analysis and consultation appointment with you directly in the environment to be adapted. It may be necessary to observe you and your work processes over a certain period or to speak with third parties, such as IT specialists in your company. Furthermore, it is also possible to calmly test our assistive devices within the available and reasonable scope.
Step 2
Concept
Following the analysis, we develop a well-founded concept and document all the requirements of your workplace. You will also receive an offer for the necessary assistive technology. For full or partial cost coverage, you must submit the offer to the respective cost bearer, such as your health insurance or the relevant authority, along with a justification. This must include, among other things, why you specifically need this technology at your workplace or in your private daily life. Depending on the individual case, a prescription from a specialist doctor may also be advisable or necessary.
Step 3
Implementation
Once our offer has been accepted, we internally prepare all the assistive devices planned for you for installation at your location. Before scheduling an appointment to commission the technology at your site, our technicians thoroughly check each individual product. Both hardware and software undergo extensive testing to minimize disruptions to your daily routine caused by setting up the technology. The commissioning of your assistive devices as well as any necessary software installations within your IT environment are carried out in close coordination with your IT colleagues on-site.
Step 4
Startup & Service
After your new equipment has been set up and fully installed, the functions as well as tips and tricks for handling the new system will be shown to you calmly and at your own pace, whereby we work closely with vocational training institutions in training basic qualifications. Should technical adjustments still be necessary, our employee will usually implement these immediately. Afterwards, our support team and our hotline are available to you at all times for your questions.
